Our Country Location
Our new country dental office is finally up and running and it is exciting to be open at our new Location. I have been working for the past few months building the new quaint office facility. In all my years of experience in dentistry, I think this may be the most enjoyable office I have ever will have. Years ago, my secondary office was in Colfax, Louisiana; be it a small, quaint and efficient setup. It was open only one to two days a week, however it was a great little location. The people were receptive of the limited hours and appreciated the convenience. This concept is what I am establishing at this new location, but with more hours available on this quiet road.
North Bayou Rapides Road is bordered by cotton and soy bean fields on one side and the bayou on the other. Sometimes I see wood ducks fly to their evening home and maybe a beaver swimming in the bayou. I put up some purple martin homes several years ago and today the area is swarming with young birds. Soon they will be flying south to their winter homes only to return next spring. I enjoy this quiet setting. It is a great spot for a dental office. I think patients will also enjoy the slower pace of their treatments as compared to the large staff clinic that has the automated personal touch. You know the type of office, rushed in, hurry up and pay and then pushed out. And the financing is forced with large bills that no one really wants. When the patient gets home they are questioning what just happened.
My wife is my assistant and I am the receptionist. I answer the phone. How unique is that. I use the internet for scheduling and email and texting for reminders of the appointments. These reminders are all automated, not the personal touch. I think it is a great system. Website patient scheduling. The patient can go the appointment book and make or modify their visits.
This modality of health care is of the “days gone by”, the small-town dentist. I will enjoy this. I think this unique way of a dental care will be received well. It was in Colfax.
